Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel by American writer Ray Bradbury, first published in 1953. In this project, I was asked to redesign typographically a book cover from a chosen novel. I have been fascinated by dystopian films and literacy since I was little, therefore I chose Fahrenheit 451.
The camouflage
A book cover is the first impression of a book. A novel like Fahrenheit 451 with various editions, the bar has been set so high. Along my research, there are handful of amazing redesigns done by numerous talents! So I decided to go for a different approach: A book representing burnt and hiding elements.
‘Burnt toast‘
Burnt toast is combining the symbol of spiritual food and the scene of burning books in the novel. The concept is to make this book camouflaged in the environment to preserve literacy.
